Thailand bans use of mercury in factory

Ministry of Industry of Thailand published the “Notification of the Ministry of Industry regarding Prohibition of the Establishment or Expansion of Factories Using Mercury or Mercury Compounds in the Manufacturing Process and Prohibition of the Use of Mercury or Mercury Compounds in the Manufacturing Process B.E. 2568 (2025))” in the Government Gazette on 1 September 2025. The notification prohibits the use of mercury or mercury compounds in the manufacturing process in factories specified in the notification. This notification came into force on 2 September 2025.
