Thailand Proposes Mandatory Standard for Lithium Batteries Used in Electrical Energy Storage Systems

On 17 August 2026, Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) under the Ministry of Industry opened a public consultation on the basic principles of a draft ministerial regulation that would require lithium battery products for electrical energy storage systems to comply with a mandatory industrial standard. The consultation period runs from 18 August to 17 September 2026.
