Thailand requests comments and information about PFHxS

The Pollution Control Department (PCD), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand released a questionnaire document to request comments and information about perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS), its salts, and PFHxS related compounds in May 2021.

 

The document is divided into 4 sections as follows:

  • Section 1: General Information.
  • Section 2: Remarks on substance control measures for 2PFHxS, its salts, and PFHxS-related compounds.
  • Section 3: Situational information for PFHxS, its salts, and PFHxS-related compounds.
  • Section 4: Usage information of PFHxS, its salts, and PFHxS-related compounds (for establishments)

 

Thailand plans to regulate PFHxS under the Hazardous Substance Act of 1992 and the collected information will be utilized for future policy development. The information will be taken into consideration to Thailand’s recommendations at the 10th Session of the Stockholm Convention of the States Parties on the issue of considering adding PFHxs, its salt, and PFHxS-related compounds as well.
