Thailand mandates pollution sources to notify information on environmental diseases

On July 30, 2024, the Ministry of Public Health Notification on the Mandatory Notification on the Monitoring, Prevention, and Control of Environmental Diseases to Residents Exposed or Potentially Exposed to Pollution of Information of 2024 (B.E. 2567) was promulgated in Thailand. This Notification, which enters into force 360 days after its promulgation, is established pursuant to the Occupational Diseases and Environmental Diseases Control Act of 2019. The Notification mandates factories and other pollution sources to communicate information about possible environmental diseases to local residents who live in the vicinity of their sites and thus are at risk of environmental diseases.
