Thailand renews Air Quality Index

The Pollution Control Department, under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, published the “Notification of the Pollution Control Department, Re: Thailand Air Quality Index B.E.2566 (2023)” dated on 16 May 2023. This notification describes the air quality index as a tool for reporting the air pollution situation, which serves as a guideline for assessing and monitoring air quality by representing the concentration of six air pollutants. This announcement is also established to repeal the previous notification namely the “Notification of the Pollution Control Department, Re: Thailand Air Quality Index B.E. 2561 (2018)”. Additionally, the Pollution Control Department has taken the initiative to provide detailed information about the air quality index, including the various levels of air quality and corresponding guidelines for the public to follow at each level.
