Philippines Releases First Report on Implementation of Energy Labeling Program

In April 2022, the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) released its first report on the implementation of the Philippine Energy Labeling Program (PELP): PELP Registration and Energy Label Issuance as of 1st Quarter 2022. The PELP system requires equipment that uses energy, such as air conditioners, lighting products, refrigerators, and televisions, to be labeled. In order to receive energy labels, operators (manufacturers, importers, and distributors) must register their businesses and products. A company registration system was launched on August 12, 2021. For product registration, the lighting product registration system was launched on November 26, 2021, and the refrigerator, air conditioning and television registration system was launched on January 10, 2022.
