Philippines Publishes Energy Label Implementation Guidelines for TVs, Refrigerators, Lighting, Display Monitors, and Air Conditioners

On June 18, 2024, the implementation guidelines for the Philippine Energy Labeling Program (PELP) for televisions, refrigerators, lighting, display monitors, and air conditioners were published in the Philippines. These implementation guidelines come into effect 15 days following their publication. Televisions, refrigerators, lighting, and air conditioners were the first four products subject to the PELP, with their implementation guidelines published in June 2021. Therefore, the newly announced implementation guidelines are updated versions. On the other hand, display monitors have been newly included in the PELP as a result of the Department of Energy (DOE) Circular No. 2022-11-0035, which expanded the range of covered products. Consequently, this is the first time implementation guidelines for display monitors have been promulgated.

Below is an overview of the implementation guidelines for air conditioners.
