China Publishes Draft a New List of Products Subject to Energy Efficiency Labeling Requirement 
On February 9, 2026, China’s National Development and Reform Commission published a draft List of Products Subject to The Energy Efficiency Labeling Requirement (2026version) Along with Energy Efficiency Labeling Rules for These Products. The commission accepted comments on the drafts through March 9, 2026.
The commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation have jointly developed the drafts to update the list and labeling rules. The draft list contains 37 product items that require energy efficiency labels, one fewer than the 2025 edition as an item, “alternating-current ventilation fans for household and similar uses”, is removed in the draft.
