Malaysia’s Energy Commission released the 2026 revised edition of the "Guidelines for Energy-Using Products" under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2024 on October 14, 2026. Two new items, "electric motors" and "hot and cold water dispensers" were added to the products subject to Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), where the guidelines set forth provisions including product scopes, MEPS requirements, and energy efficiency rating labeling requirements. Provisions for both items will enter into force on January 1, 2027.
