Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed Executive Order (EO) No. 127 on October 13, 2026, establishing a national framework for the domestic carbon credit market. The framework aims to promote funding and investment for climate change initiatives in the Philippines and support projects that generate carbon credits. It also seeks to establish transaction rules aligned with international standards, supporting the achievement of the country’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement, as well as participation in international carbon markets and the voluntary carbon market (VCM).
