In the Philippines, on September 22, 2022, a draft of the Chemical Control Order (CCO) for Benzene (hereinafter referred to as the Draft) was published, and comments were solicited. The Draft newly adds benzene (C6H6, CAS RN 71-43-2) as a controlled substance under the Chemical Control Order (CCO), and applies to a wide range of businesses, including importers, distributors, manufacturers, industrial users, commercial users, and processors. In addition to the requirement that target businesses must register, importers must also obtain an import license.
