Malaysia Bans 2 more Chemicals in Cosmetics under ASEAN Cosmetic Directive

The National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) of Malaysia, following amendments to the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive (ACD: ASEAN Cosmetic Directive) pursuant to the 41th ASEAN Cosmetic Commission (ACC) Meeting, has promulgated a circular announcing the amendments on July 10, 2025. The amendment included two newly banned substances along with clarifications on Salicylic Acid restrictions. Amendments are incorporated in the Guidelines for Control of Cosmetic Products in Malaysia.
