Philippines establishes implementing guidelines for registration and compliance with vehicle fuel economy labeling regulations

On August 13, 2024, the “Implementing Guidelines of the Philippines Transport Vehicle Fuel Economy Labeling Program on Registration Procedures and Compliance Mechanism” was established in the Philippines. These implementing guidelines stipulate registration procedures and compliance guidelines for the Philippines Transport Vehicle Fuel Economy Labeling Program (VFELP) based on the Department of Energy (DOE) Circular No. DC2023-05-0017, which prescribes VFELP, and will come into effect 15 days after publication in two general newspapers or the official gazette.
