Philippines adds auxiliary devices to products covered under energy labels

On June 10, 2024, in the Philippines, two Department of Energy (DOE) circulars amending the Philippine Energy Labeling Program (PELP) guidelines and the Minimum Energy Performance for Products (MEPP) guidelines respectively were published. Due to these amendments, auxiliary devices have been added as a new product category covered under PELP. Additionally, for MEPP, the standards for existing covered products have been revised, and new products such as televisions, energy saving devices, and washing machines have been designated as covered products. These circulars come into effect 15 days following the publication.
