India’s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has published three separate orders to temporarily suspend the Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for Linear Alkyl Benzene, Morpholine and n-Butyl Acrylate. For three months, all three chemicals manufactured or imported are exempted from its compliance with the corresponding Indian Standard, which means that product testing and audit at the manufacturing facilities will not be required.
Temporarily suspended QCOs are listed below. All three are currently listed under Schedule II, Scheme I of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Rules, 2018 which mandated compliance with designated Indian standards, product testing, audit and labeling of Standard Mark.
| QCO | Indian Standard | Suspension Period |
|---|---|---|
| Linear Alkyl Benzene | IS 12795: 2020 | ~July 1, 2026 |
| Morpholine | IS 12084: 2018 | ~July 1, 2026 |
| n-Butyl Acrylate | IS 14709: 1999 | ~July 10, 2026 |
Besides the chemicals above, many other chemical QCOs have been revoked since 2025, where a total of 38 QCOs previously published were withdrawn.
