In India, the Standards & Labeling Program (a five-star rating), an energy-efficiency labeling system for household electrical products, has been launched since May 2006, and products subject to both the mandatory and the voluntary labeling systems are specified. Deep Freezers
Deep Freezers were added to the voluntary Scheme in March 5, 2020. The program covers hardtop and glazed chest-type freezers that meet the safety requirements of Indian Standard “IS302-2-24: Safety of household and similar electrical appliances” and the energy performance requirements of “IS7872: Specification for Freezers”. The energy consumption standard for freezers is based on annual energy consumption (kWh/year) and this standard is valid from April 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021.
