China guides renewable energy consumption scheme

On Nov. 16, 2022, China’s National Development and Reform Commission and other government departments announced on the commission’s website that year-on-year increases in renewable energy consumption are excluded from the country’s energy consumption limit scheme. The official circular clarifies what types of renewable energy are excluded from the energy consumption limit scheme. It also says a system will be developed to verify renewable energy consumption through “green power certificates”.
