On June 23, 2025, South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MOE) and the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) jointly hosted an event titled the “Expert Forum on Circular Battery Use.” This forum brought together experts from the battery recycling and manufacturing industries, automakers, academia, and public institutions to discuss key policy, technical, and institutional issues related to circular battery use. The agenda included policy measures to promote battery circularity, a study on the economic value of recycling lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, and the latest domestic and international trends in recycled material certification systems.
