China’s Shenzhen city issues standard setting VOC, hazardous chemical content limits for cleaners used in electronics industry

On Feb. 8, 2025, China’s Shenzhen city issued a mandatory local standard called the “Limit of Volatile Organic Compounds and Certain Harmful Substances of Cleaning Agents in Microelectronic and Electronic Assembly” (DB 4403/584-2025). The standard aims to reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from the electronics industry, which is a key industry of Shenzhen.
