China issues guidelines to promote renewable energy transition

On October 30, 2024, the National Development and Reform Commission of China issued the “Guidelines on vigorously implementing renewable energy transition actions”. The Guidelines sets a target of achieving national renewable energy consumption of more than 1.1 billion tons (standard coal equivalent) by 2025 and more than 1.5 billion tons (standard coal equivalent) by 2030.
