China publishes draft revised mandatory national standard for harmful substance content in industrial coatings

On July 17, 2024, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published a draft mandatory national standard, “Limit of Harmful Substances of Coating Materials Part 2: Industrial Coatings”. The ministry is seeking comments on the draft through Sept. 14, 2024.

The draft standard sets out coating product classification, and governs hazard statements, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, etc. for coating materials and the packaging and labeling of coating materials in relation to concentration limits for substances harmful to the human body and environment in industrial coatings and their auxiliary materials.
