China’s Jiangsu province publishes draft standard for pollution control in comprehensive utilization of waste PV modules

On July 8, 2024, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu province, China published a draft provincial standard called the Technical Specification for Pollution Control of Comprehensive Utilization of Scrap Photovoltaic Modules. The department is seeking comments on the draft through Aug. 5, 2024.

The draft standard aims to rigorously enforce China’s Environmental Protection Law1 and Solid Waste Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control Law2, and standardize requirements for pollution control in the comprehensive utilization of waste photovoltaic (PV) modules.
