China publishes draft revised industry standard that sets limits on harmful substance content in fire-retardant building coatings

On July 8, 2024, China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development published a draft revised standard for the construction industry called the Limit and Test Method of Harmful Substances in Fire-retardant Coating (JG/T 415) to seek comments on the draft. This is a revision of the 2013 version of the standard. It would regulate the concentrations of VOCs and other harmful substances in fire-retardant coating materials.
