China’s Shanghai publishes draft revised local standard for tracking codes of hazardous chemicals

In May 2024, the Emergency Management Bureau of Shanghai, China, published a draft revised local standard for tracking codes of hazardous chemicals (DB31/T 1250). According to a source familiar with the matter, the final version of the standard is expected to be issued in the second half of 2024.

Under the draft standard, hazardous chemicals that are intended solely for export or that are household chemicals sold to consumers would not be subject to the tracking code requirement.
