China releases Automotive Industry Green and Low-Carbon Development Roadmap 1.0

On Dec. 7, 2023, China released the Automotive Industry Green and Low-Carbon Development Roadmap 1.01. The China Society of Automotive Engineers and China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. jointly developed it under the supervision of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The roadmap shows how to calculate carbon emissions in the automotive industry. It also shows how to achieve the green and low-carbon transformation of the industry, and how to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality (“Dual Carbon Targets”), as well as measures to support these objectives.
