China publishes draft revised regulations on penalties for occupational accidents

On July 24, 2023, China’s Ministry of Emergency Management published draft revised regulations on penalties for occupational accidents. The ministry is seeking comments on the draft through Aug. 23, 2023.

The regulations, which were revised in 2021, are under a second revision process with the aim of fully enforcing the amended Administrative Punishment Law1 and the Work Safety Law2, standardizing the processes of punishment for occupational accidents, and strictly punishing business entities and people in charge of them according to the law when they cause occupational accidents.
