Indonesia releases draft MEPS regulations for six types of home appliances

On October 3, 2022, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia notified WTO/TBT of six draft decrees of the minister on the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) for home appliances (blender, drinking water dispenser, electric stove, washing machine, smoothing iron, and television) (hereinafter referred to as the Drafts). The Drafts provide details on the definition of covered products, MEPS, labelling, and exemptions. The Drafts are subordinate regulations of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 14 of 2021 concerning Implementation of MEPS for Energy Utilizing Equipment.
