Indonesia issues new rules on groundwater usage permission and approval

On December 9, 2024, the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources promulgated Ministerial Regulation No. 14/2024 on Groundwater Business Permit and Groundwater Use Approval. This Regulation governs groundwater development and exploitation by businesses as well as groundwater use by individuals. The Regulation entered into force on the same day as its promulgation and the following existing regulations became invalid accordingly.
