India issues supplementary document for EPR Guidelines of plastic packaging

On April 3, 2023, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) of India issued a supplementary document, in the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) of plastic packaging waste. The EPR framework for plastic packaging materials, introduced under Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2022, alongside its dedicated portal site, raised concerns amongst industrial associations and other representatives.
