China sets up a new fund to promote EPR for WEEE

On September 30, 2024, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China jointly promulgated the “Measures for the Management of Special Funds for the Treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)” and put it into effect on the same day. The Measures stipulates the financial support measures for WEEE processors after the suspension of the collection of the waste electrical and electronic equipment treatment fund.
