China Releases ‘100 Questions and Answers’ on Green Electricity Certificates to Promote Renewable Energy Use

On March 17,2025, China’s National Energy Administration released the 2025 edition of its “100 Questions and Answers on Green Electricity Certificates,” a guide designed to promote public understanding of Green Electricity Certificates (GEC) and support the development of green power trading.

The document, developed in collaboration with the Beijing and Guangzhou Power Trading Centers, addresses a wide range of topics—from the definition and issuance of Green Electricity Certificates (GEC) to their application in carbon footprint calculations and international comparisons.
