Malaysia Proposes Amendment to the 1974 Environmental Quality Act, Mandating Green Practices and Corporate Self-Regulation, Strengthening Hazardous Substance Management

The Department of Environment (DOE) of Malaysia announced a proposal to amend the 1974 Environmental Quality Act on May 6, 2025. The public consultation will be open until May 30, 2025. The proposal suggests revisions concerning corporate green practices, self-regulation, pollution management, and hazardous substance management.
