Vietnam Publishes Mechanisms and Policies for National Energy Development for the 2026–2030 period

On 11 December 2025, the National Assembly promulgated Resolution No. 253/2025/QH15 on Mechanisms and Policies for National Energy Development for the 2026–2030 Period. The Resolution takes effect from 1 March 2026. The Resolution establishes a flexible policy framework, removes existing bottlenecks, and lays an important foundation for the development of the energy sector in the new phase.

The Resolution sets out orientations regarding: Adjustment and updating of power development planning, power supply network development plans in provincial master plans; investment in power projects; development of offshore wind power; direct power purchase agreements (DPPA); Investment in oil, gas, and coal projects and facilities.
