Indonesia promulgated new decree on CCS Projects

On January 30, 2024, Presidential Decree No.14/2024 on Organization of Carbon Capture and Storage Activities was promulgated in Indonesia. The Presidential Decree, which came into effect upon promulgation, provides comprehensive regulation for carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Indonesia. It covers licensing requirements for CCS, cross-border carbon transport, and safety and environmental countermeasures for CCS businesses.
