India postpones enactment of Quality Control Order for Automotive Wheel Rim Parts

On June 9, 2022, the Ministry of Heavy Industries of India published an amendment (S.O. 2634 (E).) to postpone the date of entry into force of the Quality Control Order on automotive wheel rim parts to June 22, 2023. This Control Order was issued in September 2020 and was scheduled to come into effect one year after its promulgation, but was twice amended in 2021 and its effective date was postponed to September 21, 2022. This has been delayed by an additional nine months. Eligible products shall comply with the applicable Indian Standards and affix the “Standard Mark” based on the license granted by the Bureau of Indian Standards in Scheme I of Schedule II in the Bureau of Indian Standards (Compliance Assessment) Regulations 2018. This Act does not apply to goods intended for export.
