India publishes Quality Control Orders for eight chemicals including 1,3-Phenylenediamine and Lauric Acid

On April 27, 2022, India’s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers published Quality Control Orders for eight chemicals, including 1,3-phenylenediamine, lauric acid, and acid oil. Target products must comply with each applicable Indian Standard and affix the “Standard Mark” based on the license granted by the Bureau of Indian Standards in Scheme I of Schedule II in the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Anyone who violates the provisions of the Orders will be punished under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. These provisions do not apply to goods intended for export. The Orders shall enter into force 181 days after their publication.
