India India extends Energy Labels for Chillers to end of 2022

On September 16, 2021, India’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power issued the notification for extending the validity of the existing energy efficiency standards-based ratings for Chillers, which are voluntary products under the Standards & Labeling Programme, to December 31, 2022. Where manufactures or permittees wish to continue the existing labels that have already been approved for product models, they have to fill with the prescribed form and submit it to BEE with a sample of the revised label. In addition, energy label for Chillers was supposed to be mandatory from 2022, but this notification postpones it to 2023. Therefore, all manufacturers are required to develop the necessary infrastructure and find an appropriate testing organization (NABL or ILAC).
