India India adds Hazira port for import of unshredded metallic scrap

17 ports in total

On December 1, 2020, India’s Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry published a public notice that added Hazira port in Gujarat state as one of the ports which unshredded metallic scrap can be imported. In India, import of the scrap metal is allowed only at uauthorised ports and no exceptions would be allowed even in case of EOUs, SEZs.

The following ports are permitted to import scrap metal.

  2. Cochin
  3. Ennore
  4. JNPT
  5. Kandla
  6. Mormugao
  7. Mumbai
  8. New Mangalore
  9. Paradip
  10. Tuticorin
  11. Vishakhapatnam
  12. Pipava
  13. Mundra
  14. Kolkata
  15. Krishnapatnam
  16. Kattupalli
  17. Hazria
