India Publishes Detailed Procedures for Offset Mechanisms Under Carbon Credit Trading Scheme

On March 28, 2025, India’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) released a document detailing the implementation procedures for the offset mechanism under the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme. The scheme allows industrial and many other sectors to participate by undertaking projects that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Carbon credits will be issued based on the reductions achieved, which can be traded with other entities.
