India India adds digital camera, BT speakers, etc. to Compulsory Registration Scheme

Apply from April 1, 2021

On October 1, 2020, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) published the notification to add the following 7 items (No.57~No.63) to Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) under the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012. The application of the CRS obligation to the newly added product categories will be started from April 1, 2021.

What is Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS)…

 

Products specified under the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012 are subject to registration with the Bureau of Indian Standards by the manufacturer of the product after compliance with the requirements of the corresponding Indian Standards and testing by an accredited body.

No person shall manufacture, store for sale, import, sell or distribute any product which is not in compliance with the prescribed standards.
