Publication of Japan’s Ministry of the Environment Nature-Positive Procurement Guidelines

On July 15, 2026, Japan’s Ministry of the Environment released the Guidelines for Nature-Positive Practices in Procurement during a side event at the Global Nature Positive Summit 2026. The guidelines are not legally binding. Instead, they are intended to support voluntary corporate initiatives by outlining the fundamental considerations for integrating natural capital perspectives into procurement.
