On-site Insights (Part 5): The 2nd Global Nature Positive Summit

On July 14 and 15, 2026, the 2nd Global Nature Positive Summit was held in Kumamoto City. Panel discussions and speeches were conducted from various perspectives under the core theme of "Nature Positive." This article summarizes the breakout session titled "From Nature-Related Risks to Opportunities," held on the afternoon of July 15.

While Japan boasts the highest number of Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) adopters in the world (147 companies according to materials published by Japan's Ministry of the Environment in 2025), many enterprises still lack an understanding of the nature-related risks inherent in their business operations. During this panel discussion, representatives from the TNFD, Nippon Life Insurance Company, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), and other organizations discussed nature-related risks and opportunities.
