Japan MOE Publishes Two New Guidelines on Public Procurement for Local Government

On July 31, 2026, Japan’s Ministry of the Environment (MOE) released a revised edition of the Guidelines for Green Purchasing Initiatives for Local Governments and newly issued the Guidelines for Environmentally Conscious Contract Initiatives for Local Governments. Those guidelines aim to promote green purchasing and environmentally conscious contracting among local governments.
