China Issued Electronic Industry Standard SJ/T 11364-2024 for RoHS Labeling Requirements

On December 10, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China issued Announcement No. 39 of 2024. This announcement includes the amended electronic industry standard "Requirements for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electronic and Electrical Products" (SJ/T 11364-2014), now updated to SJ/T 11364-2024. The main amendments in SJ/T 11364-2024 include the addition of four new hazardous substances, increasing the total from six to ten, the removal of regulations regarding the display method of production dates, the introduction of QR code-based labeling methods and requirements, the addition of requirements for using web pages as display media, and the inclusion of technical documentation storage requirements for hazardous substance content information tables.

 

Scope of Application

This standard applies to electronic and electrical products sold within the People's Republic of China. It can also be referenced for use in the logistics process of supplying electronic and electrical products.

According to the definition in this standard, "electronic and electrical products" refer to devices and related products that operate depending on electric current or electromagnetic fields, or are intended for the generation, transmission, and measurement of electric current and electromagnetic fields, with a rated operating voltage of 1500V DC or 1000V AC or below. However, equipment related to production, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy is excluded from the scope.
