China issues association standard for safe service life of electric pressure cookers and electric rice cookers

On April 22, 2024, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association issued two association standards related to the safe service life, one is “Safe service life for household electrical appliances Part 10: Electric pressure cookers” (T/CHEAA 0011.10-2024), and the other is “Safe service life for household electrical appliances Part 11: Electric rice cookers” (T/CHEAA 0011.11-2024). Both standards are stipulated for the first time and come into effect immediately. These two standards cover the terminology, requirements, normal use conditions, notes and labeling of the safe service life of electric pressure cookers and electric rice cookers and set their safe service life at 5 years.

The China Household Electrical Appliances Association has started to issue a series of standards for safe service life from 2020, and currently there are 9 more standards in the series, including standards for refrigerators, wine cabinets, air conditioners, washing machines and dryers, range hoods, gas stoves, electric water heaters, water purifiers and tableware disinfection cabinets.
