Indian national auditor, CAG holds gov. agencies responsible for inadequate risk assessment of wastes to public health, environment

India’s national auditors, Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in a report titled “All India Audit Report on Waste Management” published on December 21, 2022 states that a performance audit revealed that Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has not adequately assessed risks of wastes to public health and environment. This, the CAG stated led to insufficient recognition both by policy markets and public to the problems caused by ineffective waste management.
