India issues Guidelines for Preventing Misleading Advertising

The Central Consumer Protection Authority of India issued a notification on June 10, 2022 setting out guidelines for the prevention of misleading advertising and the endorsement of such advertising (F. No.J-25/4/2020-CCPA (Reg)). The Guidelines are based on the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and regulate all advertising, regardless of form or medium, to manufacturers, service providers, or traders whose goods, products, or services are the subject of advertising, or to advertising agents or endorsers whose services are used to advertise such goods, products, or services.
