India postpones enforcement date of QCO for Refrigerating Appliance 
On December 22, 2021, India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry published “Refrigerating Appliances (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2021” to postponed the effective date of the Order for Refrigerating Appliances to January 1, 2023, and revise the applicable Indian standards. The amendment delayed the enforcement of the Order by one year from 2022, and also superseded IS 1476 (Part1): 2000 and IS 15750: 2006 to “IS 17550 (Part1): 2021”, which is applicable to refrigeration equipment for household use. The subject goods have to bear the “Standard Mark” in accordance with the license granted by the Bureau of Indian Standards in Scheme I of Schedule II of the “Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Rules, 2018”. This order shall not apply to the subject goods for export purposes.
Before revision:
- The effective date of this Quality Control Order shall be January 1, 2022.
- The Indian Standards that must be complied with are as follows.
