India India publishes Quality Control Order for air conditioner and its related parts

On December 5, 2019, India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry published the quality control order named as “Air Conditioner and its related Parts, Hermetic Compressor and Temperature Sensing Controls (Quality Control) Order, 2019”. The draft was notified to WTO-TBT on October 28 and this order will come into force from June 1 this year. This order shall not apply to goods or article meant for export.

Goods or articles specified in the table below shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard as specified in the said table and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as per the Scheme I of Schedule II of the “Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018”

The Indian Standards that must be complied with shall be the latest version in force at all times.
