India Clarifies Producer’s Obligations under Battery EPR, Calls for Compliance

On April 30, 2024, the Central Pollution Control Board of India (CPCB) promulgated two notifications to producers of the extended producer responsibility (EPR) under the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022. It clarified the producers' obligations to recycle waste batteries and submit annual reports, while calling on them to fulfill each of their obligations.
